Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic 2018
Last weekend was the annual Walt Disney World Food & Wine Classic, and boy was it magical. This was my first time attending the Food & Wine Classic event, so I didn’t have any prior expectations in mind. I’m guessing this played into the reasoning as to why I was so impressed. Once I entered the atrium of the Swan and Dolphin Hotel, which is located near Disney’s Epcot theme park, I could hear the festivities immediately.
As I picked up my press credentials, I began to eye many of the vendors the event hosted. Vendors from across the world packed themselves within the event’s quarters, and food, wine, desserts and hors d’oeuvres were all for my taking. Soulful sounds from entertainers on top of an elaborate stage could be heard from across the resort’s lake, and a light show like none another illuminated the Swan and Dolphin Hotel’s exterior.
Since I practically never pass up on an opportunity to drink wine—I’m not an alcoholic okay—I decided to try a glass of Barossa Valley Estate Cabernet Sauvignon.
What seemed like over 50 different vendor stations, I just couldn’t decide on what to fill my appetizer plate with. Multiple white tents with numerous tables and tons of professional chefs behind them could be seen across the event’s walkways.
Guests danced, drank and licked their fingers as they continued to scoop up as many dishes their serving plates could hold. Disney never fails to impress me with their well-executed events, and the Food & Wine Classic definitely didn’t disappoint. – David’s Manor, David Plowden.
