Not too long ago I attended an exceptionally tasteful event at one of my favorite hotels in Orlando—The Ritz Carlton Grande Lakes. The Homestead Harvest, an event the hotel hosts annually, brought together both culinary perfection and elegant decor. The event was held in the Whisper Creek Farm, right beside the main hotel, and it allowed guests to wonder the grounds while trying some of the delicious dishes many of the event’s vendors had to offer. As many may know, I’m an avid alcohol drinker, so my first mission was to find the booze. As I bounced from one vendor’s table to another, I took in the lavish decor the event boasted. High-strung lanterns and lights lit the night sky. Lawn chairs and sofas were placed in the midst of the scene, which gave guests a comfortable homy feel as they ate and drunk in the middle of a creek.

Another great feature of the event were the non-profit organizations that the Ritz Carlton partnered with such as Fleet Farming, which is a non-profit urban agriculture program whose mission is solely to entice the current generation to continue to grow and increase farming for better access to food and goods.  All and all, the event was a blast…as you can tell by my alcoholic smile.Check out the Homestead Harvest’s homepage here and stay tuned for their 2019 event.
