A night at Morimoto Asia
No one says fine-dinning like the Pan-Asian restaurant located in Disney Springs Florida called Morimoto Asia, tailored around the chef himself Masaharu Morimoto, a past Iron Chef competitor. This very prestigious Asian inspired restaurant brings together multiple aspects of fine foods and an established reproduction for what is known as “street food” in many Asian countries. The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous! As I entered the two-story high beauty, I was completely taken in by the enormous string-like chandlers that hung from restaurant’s second floor. They glimmered against the leather loft seats and dining tables.
It was such an honor to attend such an amazing event at Morimoto Asia, hosted by Jon Busdekcer from Orlando My Way, and of course one of my very close and very fashionable friends Maria Wyatt from Orlando Fashion Girl. My partner-in-crime for the night Annie, another amazing Orlando and Winter Park Blogger who as in attendance from the blog Annie A to Z, was actually my partner in our very first attempt at shuffleboard—maybe if I had put my drink down I could’ve actually won a round.
Morimoto Asia’s Disney Springs location obtains an amazing chef by the name of Yuhi Fujinaga, who runs the day-to-day operations, and what’s more interesting than his irresistible sweet breaded ribs that he creates, is his background.
Chef Yuhi is Japanese and spent most of his life in the island of Hawaii. However, due to family culture, he mixed his Japanese heritage with a dab of a Hispanic added attribute in his work, causing for a combination of recipe glory! Chef Yuhi has prepared meals from all around the world, and has visited many countries in order to perfect his craft. From Sushi to BBQ Kalbi Ribs, I think we’ve just about tried everything on the menu—I couldn’t help myself. Morimoto Asia serves as the beacon of fine-dinning in the Central Florida area, and is a must go to whenever one gets the change!
What a truly amazing night it was to meet a chef of his caliber, and to lose so hopelessly at my very first game of shuffle board – David Plowen, Mod’s Manor
