EDC Orlando 2015 Backstage All Access VIP Experience
Let me first say this. I am in no way a raver, matter of fact this was actually my very first time ever attending a rave—yes I said it—ever! Meaning I do not do rave things, or dress rave like, or barely even know rave people. However, when given backstage all Access VIP Passes to anything—I will kindly accept 🙂 Recently I had the pleasure of attending EDC 2015 with an All Access VIP Backstage pass! It was so stoked! As you may know EDC is one of the biggest music festivals in the world, with performances from international DJs, so one can say I was pretty excited. I decided to wear this black and gold Ed-Hardy t-shirt that had scull accents on it, as you can tell it was far from my normal attire, however it was as rave-like my wardrobe would allow. Once we reached Downtown Orlando, which is where the festival was held, we were immediately engulfed by thousands of people, yes thousands—more like 80 thousand. Yup! 80 thousand people attended EDC Orlando this year, I didn’t even know there were 80 thousand people in Orlando. Carrying on, we retrieved our tickets and made our way to the Citrus Bowl’s grounds where the festival was held. Because we had backstage all access passes we didn’t enter in the normal entrance, the backstage entrance was actually secret, a location that wasn’t disclosed to anyone other than backstage pass ticket holders. We slid our way backstage and the show began! Performances by DJ Snake, Tiësto, and Calvin Harris. I, out of every DJ there knew of Calvin Harris and listened to Calvin Harris’s music the most so I was very excited when I found out that he would be performing. By the time we made it backstage DJ Snake was playing. One of my family members, who in fact has more connections in the music industry than Clive Davis himself and was the reason how I even got these amazing tickets, informed me that we would be able to meet DJ Snake once he steps off the stage. And right she was! As DJ Snake stepped off the stage from his amazing performance he came down and greeted all of us. He shook all of our hands and even gave all the guys dap—what a cool guy! The show was going amazing so far, but guys I was still waiting for Calvin Harris. So as I proceeded to indulge myself in my cellphone, as I always do, Calvin Harris walks right passed me—right passed me! Literally he was 2 feet from in front of me! As soon as I looked he was standing right in front of me waiting to enter the stage. I was so startled that it took me a couple seconds before I couple switch to my camera app and snap a load of photos. At first I was only able to get a few pics as he walked away—however no fear David the Stalker is here! As Calvin Harris waited to get on stage I videoed him, I took pictures, I took snapchats, and I even followed him as he was leaving and yelled “Hey Calvin!” and he waved back. I mean how many times in a lifetime does one get to literally stand next to Calvin Harris for 20 minutes or so, I mean it was so cool! Anyways, after Calvin Harris went on stage and began performing we all went from backstage since no more artistes were back there and went back to our VIP area, which was literally right in front of the stage—I could feel the flames from the pyro jets on my cheeks. The closing act was Tiësto, one of the biggest and richest DJ’s in the world, however from what I’ve heard I think Clavin Harris has taken his spot with a net worth of $110 Million—gesh, how much do you think a photo of him backstage will go for 😉 The show was amazing! EDC was amazing! And even though I am not a raver—I probably made a lot of ravers jealous right now—I still had an amazing time – David Plowden, Mod’s Manor
