Most people would find being locked in a deserted establishment rather unsettling, but what if this deserted establishment was an internationally-known theme park? Well…that would definitely even the odds a bit wouldn’t you say. Recently, I had the pleasure of attending a particularly coveted—and quite empty—event called Disney After Hours, hosted by one of the greatest amusement park brands in the world. Walt Disney World’s Disney After Hours provides their pass holders and ticket purchasers with the option of attending many of their magnificent theme parks after normal operating hours. Not only that, but guests who decide to indulge in this night-owl-escapade known as Disney After Hours no longer have to worry about long lines, elbowing through busy crowds and spending an overly-exaggerated amount of time trying to take a selfie without catching a stranger’s forehead in it. Disney After Hours is the perfect event for park-goers who want the full experience of what a Disney theme park has to offer, without dealing with the extra baggage—or should I say people. As I entered the gates of Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme park, I was in complete awe. Never in my life had I ever witnessed an entire operating Disney theme park completely empty. One’s eyes are just simply not accustomed to seeing such a rare site. Other than a few Disney workers and guests, the park was completely and utterly deserted—beautiful! I was able to ride many of my favorite rides such as the Rock’n Roller Coaster, the Tower of Terror and Star Wars’s Star Tours more than once since there was practically no wait. And not only that, but Disney decided to bump it up a notch. With a ticket to Disney’s After Hours event, guests are able to spoil in the option of free popcorn, ice cream and beverages. It was like being locked in a candy store…a candy store with roller coasters and mickey mouse-shaped pretzels! In my honest opinion, it was probably one of the best theme park experiences I’ve ever had in my entire life, and I mean that with the upmost certainty.
