Christmas at Disney’s Magic Kingdom
Christmas has officially arrived at the happiest place on earth, and I got to experience it first-hand. Walt Disney World has once again whipped out their inaugural Christmas decor for their Central Florida theme parks. And this time, they’ve added a few COVID-19 precautions along with it. Recently, I ventured off to Magic Kingdom, located in the heart of Kissimmee Florida, to experience all of Disney’s luxurious Christmas decorations. As I entered the Magic Kingdom theme park, I couldn’t help but gawk at their mountain-high Christmas tree. It was intricately decorated with Disney-inspired ornaments and beautiful blossomed flowers—Disney sure knows how to whip up a nice Christmas tree! Every facet of the theme park was beautifully decorated for the festive season.
With COVID-19 stifling our society at the present time, Disney made sure to place tactful precautions in order to ensure their guests’ safety. All guests are required to wear masks throughout the entire theme park unless they’re eating or drinking, in which they aren’t allowed to walk or roam while doing so. Disney has even created creative masks with their signature Disney illustrations on it so guests can feel safe all whilst in the Disney spirit. Disney has also brought out a new haul of Disney merchandise and souvenirs for guests to indulge in.
One notable mention this year is that Disney has curated custom Christmas gift cards for patrons who decide to purchase them and spread the Christmas cheer. But of all the extravagant decorations that filled the Magic Kingdom theme park, the mammoth of them all was Cinderella’s castle. This year, Cinderella’s castle has taken on a new festive look. Straying away from its usual look and pattern, Cinderella’s castle has undergone a complete makeover. Now, the castle is sporting a completely new royal color scheme that would catch your eye almost immediately. What I loved most about Cinderella’s castle during this festive time of the year was the Christmas light show. Throughout the night, at random times, the Cinderella castle is engulfed in beautiful Christmas lights—almost mimicking a wrapped present—and a Disney Christmas parade marches down Magic Kingdom’s Main Street.
