A watermelon sugar high never really hurt anyone…right? Recently, I ventured off to the Sugar Factory, located on International Drive at Icon Park’s entertainment complex, to try some of their outrageously delicious drinks and food.

Not only is the Sugar Factory a celebrity hot-spot—hosting the likes of Wycleff Jean, Jamie Foxx and The Kardashians—but this innovative restaurant also mixes a few popular brunch dishes with a laundry list of sugary alcoholic cocktails and drinks. The minute I was seated, the Sugar Factory’s staff immediately began to flood my table with all their newest and most recognizable menu options. From multi-colored rainbow pancakes, a Cookies & Cream embellished milkshake and their signature Sugar Factory margaritas, I tried it all.

Not only was their food on-par with their whimsical brand, but so was their decor. Floor-to-ceiling candy dispensers, man-sized lollipops and a full-sized ice cream bar surrounded me as I dived into my food and sipped the alcohol out of each of my drinks. Huge monitors hung from every wall, playing a series of the company’s recent endeavors and celebrity appearances, and crystal chandeliers glistened over every table as patrons bobbed their heads to the up-beat music.

I felt as though I had stepped into Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory for a brief moment, but with cocktails…lots of cocktails.  Make sure to swing by the Sugar Factory on International Drive to try some of their delectable dishes and drinks, and don’t forget to bring your sweet-tooth with you as well. – David Plowden, David’s Manor.
