Wine seems to have replaced water in my day-to-day list of digestible items these days. With that being said, I’ve discovered a restaurant that would please any wine connoisseur’s appetite. Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse, located on the very popular strip in Orlando, Florida called iDrive, has become one of my go-to places for whenever my taste buds spontaneously desires a different grade of authentic wine. This spectacular restaurant boasts a rather extensive list of more than 1,400 various wines from across the Mediterranean. However, other than their laundry list of wines, Del Frisco’s is offering a rather impressive deal for their customers. I had the pleasure of attending a private food tasting recently to indulge in one of their most popular deals of the summer, the Prime Pair’s deal. This very cost-efficient deal provides their guests with the choice of a salad, full entree—which includes the option of a steak or fresh salmon with a jumbo crab cake—a side of mashed/baked potatoes, asparagus or spinach for only $59. That’s fine-dining on a budget! As you’re well aware, I’m a carnivore at heart, so the 8 oz. Hand-cut Filet steak was at the very top of my list as my main entree. The Del’s Salad was my choice of salad, and the Chateau Mashed Potatoes was my side’s choice. Now, in regards to my drink, I decided to try the Cabernet Sauvignon – Del Frisco’s “Private Reserve”. It was the perfect combination with my medium rare steak. Another facet of mine that I like to take into consideration when cherry-picking restaurants is the ambiance of the vicinity. I can attest that Del Frisco’s is definitely the place you would go to if you wanted to impress a significant other. 2-story high ceilings with dangling chandeliers instantly engulfed me as I entered. A guarded off wine room for private dinning was an optional choice for their guests well. An outside patio with glimmering fire lanterns and complimentary valet service were all characteristics that persuaded my approval of the restaurant. The Prime Pair’s deal is going on until the end of this month, so grab it while it’s hot! And with Del Frisco’s massive collection of delicious wines and entrees, I can see myself fancying their menu for the entire year. – David’s Manor, David Plowden.
