Miami Swim Week 17
Pablo . . . yes, Pablo was my Dominican name for the weekend of Miami Swim Week, because that’s exactly how I felt. I fully embraced the hispanic fever of Miami during it’s most fashionable week of the year. I mean . . . can’t you tell from all my Scarface like Pablo Escobar photos that I was totally indulging in the Spanish culture.
This year was my very first time ever going to Miami Swim Week thanks to the amazing brand ART Hearts Fashion. They hosted an amazing fashion show that was held in the heart of South Beach Miami. Before I decided to dive into the cultural of South Florida, I first had to plan everything out. I was going to take a nice road trip down to Miami Florida, meet with one my bestiest blogger
friends Annie from AnnieAtoZ,
who accompanied me to the shows, and then I was going to drink until my liver passed out. Let’s just say I did all three . . . without the liver passing out. The first show I attended was the hot Funkshion Fashion show in South Beach Miami. The Fashion show was hosted by their celebrity guest, Nick Cannon, and it dawned the beautiful big-white-fashion tent
that all official fashion shows are notorious for. Annie and I made our way into the tent, and were immediately greeted with fruitful drinks by fashionable waitresses. The fashion cultural and atmosphere in Miami is instinctively different than any other place. Unlike New York, everyone . . . and I mean everyone . . . dressed in full-out Summer attire. Long sun dresses, huge designer shades, and cleavage . . . lots
and lots of cleavage.
The Funkshion fashion show was amazing! And ART Hearts Fashion really outdone themselves this year. After the amazing Funkshion Fashion Show, it was VIP after-party time! We made our way over the the infamous W Hotel, where the biggest Swim Week after party was hosted at. Models, paparazzi, red carpets, lights, cameras, celebrities, I felt as if I had stepped into a hollywood movie premiere.
The party was Hot! There’s nothing like a Miami night-life. The next day, before our next Fashion Show, Annie and I decided to have dinner at the Versace Mansion, located directly on South Beach. It seems like every year I end up ringing in my birthday inside of the Versace Mansion, as this was the second time that’ve I’ve celebrated my birthday in its glamorous walls. The service was amazing . . . like always, and I decided to lounge around the infamous Versace swimming pool, which dawned the notorious Medusa head.
However, my fashionable weekend wasn’t over just yet . . . because it just so happened to be my 23rd birthday. And as all young birthday-goers do . . . I turned up!!! In style of course. I
just so happened to have a private yacht rented in my name . . . don’t ask me about the details, and decided to celebrate my 23rd birthday while sailing across the ocean with in an alcoholic beverage in hand. All-in-all, Miami Swim Week was amazing. The designs were out of this world, and the atmosphere was something that couldn’t be replicated. Thank you Miami! – David Plowden, David’s Manor
